Brothers and Texas FFA members succeed in leadership events

Peyton and Cody Gilbert are making their mark for the Whitehouse Future Farmers of America, and their dedication is paying off. They have both excelled in a number of leadership events in competitions across the state.
Between the two, they have won or placed in a combined 12 Leadership Development events. In Junior Creed Speaking, Cody place first at the Alba-Golden FFA Invitations, third in the Waskom FFA Invitational, first in the Mineola District contest and second in the Area VI contest, thereby qualifying for the state contest.
At the state FFA leadership contest, held at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Cody placed 13th. Over 700 FFA members in their first-year of agricultural classes competed in this contest at the district level, ending with the top 20 participating at state.
In the Senior Creed Speaking contest, Peyton placed first at the Alba- Golden contest, first at the Mineola district contest and sixth place at the Area VI contest. Peyton also competed in the Job Interview contest, placing third at Alba-Golden, second at Mineola district and second at the Area VI contest, qualifying him for the state FFA leadership contest as well.
